This Vintage Chanel Tote Bag is made of thick, smooth Red leather and Gold hardware. Quilted stitching around lower 3.5″ of bag and on bottom of bag. Round Red Leather Charm has raised, Gold double CCs on it. Double Gold chain straps have interwoven leather and leather shoulder rests. Shoulder straps pass through grommets on front and back of bag. Double snap closure. Leather lining. Back wall has large hanging zip pocket with CHANEL logo embossed in Gold. Authentication sticker is on back side of pocket and reads: 0838292. Front wall has “Made in Italy” embossed in Gold. This Chanel Tote is large enough to carry a 17″ Laptop. Includes Chanel dustbag.
NOTE:Â The leather lining in both inside zip pockets has pulled away from the zipper (this should be able to be fixed at a repair shop.) It looks like the pocket linings had been glued under the zipper, since there are no sewing or puncture marks. The Bag also does have a slight “perfume” smell to it in places. This could be the old leather? The smell isn’t noticeable unless you press your nose directly on to the leather.
Condition:Â Pre-owned in excellent condition. This is one of the most sturdy leathers we have ever seen on a Chanel bag. The outside leather is in excellent condition. Bottom corners of bag show very light wear. Gold hardware is still shiny. Interwoven leather on straps shows some darkening on edges in places. We’ve noticed that the inside lining does not expand out as far as the leather of the bag does, which causes some indents/folds in the leather near the bottom of the bag. These indents/folds will straighten out when items are carried in the bag. Please see photos for details. It’s rare to find a Vintage Chanel Tote bag in such excellent condition and in such a gorgeous Red color. Nicole Ritchie has carried the Black version of this Tote.
